I'm sat in Belfast International Airport,
and my flight has been delayed by like, 2 hours.
To the point where, I don't even know what Gate I'm supposed to be at,
and that isn't being announced for another 1hr45mins!
So I figured, what better time to start recording my journey with 24-7 Ibiza.
I have a solid wifi signal, a hot coffee, my laptop is all charged up and I'm settled at a table with a clear view of one of those Flight Update screens that everyone seems to flock around at the airport!
For those of you who don't know,
I was part of a 2-week Short Term Team to Ibiza last year & the entire experience was just incredible.
I had the best time & over those 2 weeks I learnt so much about myself & about God.
But pretty much as soon as my first day in Ibiza was over last year,
I already knew that I wanted to come out for longer this summer!
I literally remember thinking during the induction, "Why am I only here for 2 weeks?!"
So I'm massively grateful to everyone who has made it possible,
by supporting & praying for me going on this mission!
I'm so excited!!
This morning was a wee bit weird though, if I'm being honest.
This will be the longest David and I have ever been apart, and 8 weeks is a long time.
I keep reminding myself that social media exists,
and we'll be able to instantly connect with each other whenever we need to.
It's not like we're going to be completely cut off from each other for the next 2 months!
I'm still going to miss sharing every day with him,
but I know that we'll be able to stay in touch really easily!
It's also alot more daunting than last year, because I'm flying out on my own,
rather than with a group of team members all travelling together.
I've travelled by myself plenty of times, but it's just a bit of a weird feeling,
flying out on my own to a group of people that I don't know!
But in saying that, I can't wait to meet the rest of the team already in Ibiza,
the guys who lead the mission and live in Ibiza all year round,
the other Long Termers & the Short Term teams that will be coming out every 2 weeks!
I have so much excitement for the next 2 months, and I am filled with
anticipation for all that God is going to do,
but it doesn't stop that slightly sick nervy feeling in my stomach.
I know that it's completely normal to be nervous & I'm confident that I'm doing the right thing, because God has led me here & if He didn't want me going to Ibiza this year, then this trip wouldn't be happening! It's as simple as that!
But still, the nerves are real.
Oh, there's just been an update on those trusty screens...my flight is now delayed until 12.05.
But, on the bright side I have just found out that I've got a friend in the airport,
waiting on the same flight!
It'll be nice to have someone to chat to for a bit, especially if this flight keeps being pushed back later & later, and it will be great to meet someone who is part of the year round team!
If you're the praying type, I would really appreciate your prayers over the next couple of weeks!
Prayers for confidence & boldness to share who Jesus is & what He means to me.
Prayers of safety & direction as we take part in the night time work on the streets of San An.
Prayers for a listening heart, so that I will hear & understand what God is saying to me.
