I thought it was about time that I started to actually use my blog title 'What Danielle Loves..." for something useful. At the minute it sounds a little random, and so unoriginal it's not even funny! But honestly, it fits what I want from this blog. I'm writing about things that I love, that interest me or that I am passionate about, so 'What Danielle Loves...' makes sense, for me at least!
This little online place is an outpouring of my brain, the overflow of thoughts and experiences, random & meaningful, that I want to share with whoever will listen. Or, you know, read.
So, I thought I would put the title to good use with a round up of things that I've loved during the week/month/however often it ends up being! We shall see. (It probably would have been a good idea to do this at the beginning of January, but here we are...)

2015 - It's already the middle of January 2015 and I honestly couldn't be more excited for the rest of this year! I wrote a separate post about what's coming up, find it here. But as well as that, David & I have been thinking up our Bucket Lists, and I think a fair few of them are in the works for this year too, so I can't wait to see what we get up to this year!

My 1st scrapbook - I actually started my scrapbook, one of my Monthly Goals, so I'm feeling very proud of myself. And it's looking pretty good, even if I do say so myself! Although, it is a lot more stressful than I had imagined & it's making me wish that I'm a more artsy person, but it is looking quite pretty nonetheless!
This Maps scrapbook is from Paperchase, obviously! |
The Miniaturist - I started reading this book by Jessie Burton last Saturday and I finished it on Thursday. I was SO hooked by it. I have quite a bad habit of getting so engrossed in books that I read through them super fast, and I had been intending to take it slow with this one. I guess finishing it in 6 days isn't that quick but I still feel like I've binge read it, for some reason. It was one of those books that I just couldn't put down, it was so enchanting and magical, in a subtle, eerie, creepy kinda way.
Such a beautiful cover on this book! I got it from Waterstones. |
Cinema Trips - I love going to the cinema, it's definitely up there near the top of my "Fave Things To Do" list. Gemma and I went to see Into The Woods on Tuesday (£3.50 tickets, don't mind if I do!) and it was...let's say interesting! It was a fun movie to watch, the songs were catchy and the cast were phenomenal, but the movie itself was actually a lot more weird than I thought it was going to be! We learnt after that it is originally a play, which explains why the movie looks so much like a pantomime in parts, but apparently the play is really quite dark and sinister. So the movie is the downplayed, children's version of the play...Which is slightly disturbing because we found parts of the movie to be quite dark and sinister! I won't go into any detail (because who likes spoilers, really?) but our final verdict was this: fun, enjoyable, would probs buy and watch it again, but quite weird and unsettling in parts.
So that was my list of things I've loved this past week! As far as weeks go, I think it's been a pretty good one. Here's hoping that I have enough interesting things in my life to make this a weekly thing :)
Hope you all had a great week too!
Meryl Streep was absolutely incredible! |
